Some weddings feel like a perfect reflection of a couple’s love story, and Colleen and Daniel’s colorful Williamsburg wedding at Fandi Mata was exactly that—vibrant, intimate, and effortlessly fun. From their teary first look on the balcony of The Penny Hotel to their joy-filled dance party, every moment felt personal and intentional.
Colleen and Daniel first connected on Hinge in the spring of 2019, and from their first date, their connection was undeniable. Fast forward to March 2023, on a beautiful Sunday, Daniel proposed in one of their favorite spots—Brooklyn Heights. A neighborhood full of memories from their early days together, it was the perfect place to start their next chapter.
So when it came time to choose a wedding venue, they knew they wanted it to be close to home. The moment they stepped into Fandi Mata, just down the street from their Williamsburg apartment, they knew they had found the perfect place to celebrate.
Colleen and Daniel’s wedding day started at The Penny Hotel, a chic and intimate space in Williamsburg. The suite where Colleen got ready was flooded with natural light, and its private balcony became the perfect setting for their emotional first look.
After sharing this moment together, we made our way to the rooftop bar for portraits, where the Manhattan skyline served as a stunning backdrop. The bold, colorful interiors of the bar also tied in perfectly with the vibrant energy of the day.
From there, we took a quick cab ride to Domino Park, where Colleen and Daniel braved the breezy waterfront for some windswept portraits before heading back for their ceremony.
Rather than a traditional large ceremony, Colleen and Daniel chose to exchange their vows in a private, heartfelt moment on their suite’s balcony at The Penny. With just thirteen of their closest family members and friends, they shared personal vows and were officially pronounced married!
Afterward, they made their way to Fandi Mata, where their larger celebration would begin.
Fandi Mata was the perfect backdrop for Colleen and Daniel’s wedding vision. The space itself is a beautiful mix of industrial design, eclectic artwork, and lush greenery, creating a warm, lively atmosphere for their celebration.
The evening kicked off with a record-breaking short ceremony, where their officiant said a few words before sealing their love with one more kiss. Since they had already exchanged vows and rings privately, this was a fun, lighthearted way to welcome their guests into the celebration.
Cocktail hour featured incredible Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, and one of the most charming details was the custom napkins printed with fun facts about the couple—a personal touch that had guests smiling all evening.
The reception began with Colleen and Daniel’s first dance, followed by heartfelt toasts and a family-style dinner—an intimate way for guests to connect over delicious food.
Then, the dance floor came alive.
I’ve seen a lot of DJs and live bands over the years, but DLE Event Group created a next-level party. From epic saxophone solos to the drummer weaving through the crowd, the energy was unstoppable. Every single guest was on their feet, making for a night that no one wanted to end.
Colleen and Daniel’s wedding was a true Williamsburg celebration—effortlessly cool, deeply personal, and bursting with joy. From the intimate vow exchange to the nonstop party at Fandi Mata, their day was a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple.
Colleen & Daniel—thank you for letting me be a part of your unforgettable wedding day! Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and Brooklyn adventures.
